The Neurosymbolic Systems Team of is a part of the Machine Learning Laboratory at the Institute of Computing Science of Poznan University of Technology. We conduct basic and applied research on machine learning architectures, algorithms and applications that bridge the mainstream deep learning approaches with symbolic reasoning and representations. The main areas of our research activity include:

  • Neurosymbolic architectures
  • Program synthesis using heuristic and exact algorithms
  • Evolutionary computation and other metaheuristics
  • Machine learning for knowledge graphs, ontologies, event logs, and language
  • Image interpretation and computer vision, in particular in applications to medical imaging
